• Issues: This individually based site requires training. Volunteers generally participate in running bingo games, ice cream parlor, physical therapy, computer tutoring, playing piano, mini-dance marathons, catholic communion, put on rehearsals of plays/musicals/etc. or just talking with residents.

Senior Connections

• Area: Evanston
• Senior connections volunteers meet with their senior on a weekly basis at a mutually beneficial time. Volunteers and seniors are matched on a variety of criteria, including hobbies, background, personality, and location. Seniors and volunteers enjoy playing board games, going on walks, going for drives, and especially coffee talk. This site requires a 2-hour training. All in all, through Senior Connections you have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with Evanston senior citizens that really valuable your visit and getting to know you.
